From cosmetics to pet food

We are a reliable supplier of rendered animal fats and processed animal proteins to a wide range of industries. A common feature of our products is their high quality and consistency. While our customers’ requirements vary, we do our best to accommodate them whenever possible.

The origin of our raw materials and legislative compliance

  • Raw Material Categories (EC 1069/2009): We work exclusively with Category 3 animal by-products that comply with the Regulation on animal by-products (EC 1069/2009). All our raw materials come from slaughterhouses under local veterinary supervision.
  • Traceability and risk mitigation: We adhere to a traceability system and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), which ensures quality control and safety throughout the entire production chain.
  • Sustainable and circular economy: Our production is in line with the principles of the circular economy. We utilize surplus animal by-products from food production—minimizing waste and reducing our environmental impact. By using our raw materials, you contribute to the sustainability of your production.

Safety, Certifications and Documentation

  • Strict quality control: For fats, we constantly monitor limits for insoluble impurities and maintain low levels of free fatty acids (FFA) and acidity values. For animal meals, we monitor protein, moisture content, ash, and fat content. We conduct routine chemical and microbiological tests (such as Salmonella screening) to ensure product safety and stability.
  • Technical and Safety Documentation: We provide a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for all products, detailing chemical composition, microbiological safety, and nutritional parameters (where relevant to the industry). We provide a safety data sheet (SDS/MSDS) – with clear information on handling, storage, and safety.
  • Full compliance with EU regulations: Our processes comply with regulations for Category 3 animal by-products (Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009). We monitor contaminant levels and adhere to all maximum limits set by legislation.

Tailor-made orders and logistics

  • Shipping and Packaging: In addition to large shipments, we can also accommodate requests for smaller trial orders. Every shipment is delivered with complete documentation. We always ensure proper labeling, flawless packaging, and hygiene during transport.

How long has PEPITO been on the market?

Since 1994. You can find more details about PEPITO on the About Us page, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have that are not covered there.

What certifications do you have?

Quality and safety are the cornerstone of our production. We adhere to the HACCP traceability system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and we hold ISO 9001:2015 certification and a veterinary certificate.

Do you also offer shipping to your customers?

You don’t have to worry about choosing the right packaging or other shipping details—we’ll be happy to arrange delivery of our rendered animal fats and animal meal right to your doorstep.

What types of packaging does PEPITO use?

It depends on the product and the size of your order. To give you an idea, here is a typical packaging method based on shipment size and product type:

Rendered animal fats:

  • Small packages – for these, we most often choose 100-liter plastic drums certified for food contact, but other packaging can be selected by agreement. This packaging is typically chosen by customers in the cosmetics, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • IBC containers – the happy medium for customers who need several hundred kilograms or a few tons of fat. This packaging is chosen, for example, by smaller feed manufacturers.
  • Tank trucks – ideal for large feed and biofuel manufacturers.

Animal meal:

  • Big bag – a truck can be fully loaded with them (approx. 24 tons), but we also supply individual bags if you need a smaller volume, such as 6 tons, etc.
  • Tilt-top trailer (open-top, capacity approx. 24 tons) – ideal for larger deliveries, for example, to organic fertilizer manufacturers.

Do you use preservatives and other additives in the production of fats?

When processing fats, we use only steam to dissolve them, and then centrifuge the mixture. We add antioxidants only at the request of specific customers (typically feed manufacturers).
