Fats and animal meals for pet food
Pet food manufacturers are among our key customers, as rendered animal fats and animal meal are ideal raw materials for producing kibble and treats for dogs and cats. They are nutritionally rich in proteins and fats, which are essential for the healthy development and vitality of our four-legged friends. Plus, the natural flavor of our fats and meals will attract even the pickiest noses.
The high quality and safety of our products
- Compliance with EU Regulations: Our raw materials and processing methods are fully compliant with the Regulation on animal by-products (EC 1069/2009). We use exclusively Category 3 animal by-products, which are approved for the production of pet food and are subject to strict veterinary supervision.
- Animal fats (Category 3): They are a key source of energy, improving the palatability and nutritional value of feed. Low levels of free fatty acids (FFA) increase feed stability and extend its shelf life.
- Processed animal proteins (PAP): The high protein content contributes to the nutritional balance of the feed. Strictly controlled heat treatment ensures hygienic safety.
- Safety and reliability: With us, you can be assured of regular chemical and microbiological testing, HACCP compliance, and traceability of raw materials.
Eco-friendly and sustainable production as the foundation
- We uphold the principles of the circular economy: We minimize waste and maximize sustainability. By partnering with us, you make use of valuable byproducts from food production that would otherwise go to waste.
Legislation and documentation in compliance
- Clear Documentation: We meticulously maintain technical data sheets (TDS), specifications, certificates of analysis (CoA), and comprehensive information on safety, chemical composition, and microbiology.
- Fast processing and price transparency: We provide every customer with a clear price quote, including shipping costs. If you’re interested, we’ll handle the shipping for you to ensure peace of mind and the safety of your cargo.

What certifications do you have?
Quality and safety are the cornerstone of our production. We adhere to the HACCP traceability system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and we hold ISO 9001:2015 certification and a veterinary certificate.
Do you use preservatives and other additives in the production of fats?
When processing fats, we use only steam to dissolve them, and then centrifuge the mixture. We add antioxidants only at the request of specific customers (typically feed manufacturers).
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
For processed animal proteins, our standard MOQ is 1 ton (one Big Bag), and for rendered animal fats, it is 50 kg (typically for cosmetics manufacturers), but we also offer smaller trial orders for your test production. We provide bulk deliveries to pet food and biofuel manufacturers, as well as small orders for cosmetics manufacturers.
What types of packaging does PEPITO use?
It depends on the product and the size of your order. To give you an idea, here is a typical packaging method based on shipment size and product type:
Rendered animal fats:
- Small packages – for these, we most often choose 100-liter plastic drums certified for food contact, but other packaging can be selected by agreement. This packaging is typically chosen by customers in the cosmetics, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
- IBC containers – the happy medium for customers who need several hundred kilograms or a few tons of fat. This packaging is chosen, for example, by smaller feed manufacturers.
- Tank trucks – ideal for large feed and biofuel manufacturers.
Animal meal:
- Big bag – a truck can be fully loaded with them (approx. 24 tons), but we also supply individual bags if you need a smaller volume, such as 6 tons, etc.
- Tilt-top trailer (open-top, capacity approx. 24 tons) – ideal for larger deliveries, for example, to organic fertilizer manufacturers.
How long has PEPITO been on the market?
Since 1994. You can find more details about PEPITO on the About Us page, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have that are not covered there.
